Jammu, May 5: Landed in a piquant situation after not fielding candidates for three Parliamentary seats of Kashmir Valley, the BJP is likely to officially declare support to a candidate of the like-minded party on the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat within a couple of days.
Highly placed sources in the BJP said that discussions were going on with top leaders of the party in this regard to take a final decision.

According to the details available with Early Times the accused, Parth Khanna, was apprehended by police and taken to Sarwal Police Post for further investigations. Jammu, May 5: In the first 20 days of registration process, as many as 2.38 lakh pilgrims have registered for an annual Shri Amarnath Yatra starting from June 29, 2024.
Official sources said that as of now 2.38 lakh pilgrims have registered themselves for annual Shri Amarnath Yatra through offline and online mode in the advance registration process that started on April 15.
Commencing from June 29, the 52-day Yatra this year is concluding on August 19 (Rakshabandhan).

Jammu, May 5: One person was killed and another injured when a cab they were travelling in met with an accident on Sunday in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said that a cab on its way from Jammu to Rajouri skidded off the road and met with an accident near Thalka in the Nowshera belt of Rajouri.
They said that one person identified as Zabeer Ahmed, 20, the driver of the vehicle, died in the mishap, while another occupant, namely Wajid Hussain Shah, 25, sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

The locomotive of a Jammu-bound train detached from its coaches in Sirhind in Punjab on Sunday, officials said.
The incident occurred after the train departed from the Sirhind railway station and the locomotive travelled for three kilometres without its coaches, they said.
