Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 19: The slogans of the Lieutenant Governor Administration of augmenting development works across Union Territory seems to have deflated with the fact that the pending payment of Rs 250 crores has not been paid to contractors even after the lapse of six months. The contractors of Jammu have alleged that their payments of around Rs 250 crores against Languishing Projects of JKUT have not been cleared off till date. Flaying the Government and Finance Department in particular for a huge delay of about 6 months in clearing the bills for the works already completed under Languishing Projects scheme, Balvinder Singh said that several developmental works were taken up under this project out of which so many works have been completed by the contractors and bills have been passed by the PWD offices and sent to Finance Department for payment. “Although we have completed all requisite formalities such as Technical Sanction and Administrative Approval but for last 6 months, the Finance Department has failed to arrange funds for these projects and whenever we...

Agencies New Delhi, Jan 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host the first India-Central Asia Summit in a virtual format on January 27, the Ministry of External Affairs announced today. The summit will be held with the participation of the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, the MEA said in a statement.
