Jammu bears brunt of Covid deaths again!
Winter capital records highest mortality rate

Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 21: Jammu is yet again “bearing the brunt” of the Covid mortalities raising questions if the J&K government had learnt no lessons from the second wave when the winter capital region witnessed majority of deaths due to the pandemic. In the last around a week, Jammu province has been witnessing maximum number of deaths due to the Covid in the Union Territory, while the administration is accused of focusing on “promotion of tourism.” The official documents accessed by the Early Times highlight the “alarming mortality” due to the pandemic in the region raising eyebrows over the working of the Jammu and Kashmir administration, which is already facing severe criticism from public circles for “failure on numerous fronts.” As per the official documents, on January 17, 2827 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 1093 from Jammu division and 1734 from Kashmir division, were reported. Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 21: The government’s decision to impose a lockdown from Friday 2pm till Monday morning 6 am created chaos and confusion in Jammu region today. The J&K administration on late Thursday evening had issued an order stating that restrictions on the movement of non-essential commodities will be applicable from Friday afternoon till Monday morning. However, the traders resented the order and the president of Jammu Chambers Commerce and Industries (JCCI) Arun Gupta took up the matter with the concerned officials.
