TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Top cop misused his position, power to harass his business partner, then CM acted as mute spectator
Mehbooba gave free hand to police when she was in power
1/6/2019 10:54:52 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 6: Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and president of the Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti after losing power has trained guns at the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the other security forces operating in the Valley. Recently she lashed out at the Station House Officer and his subordinates for allegedly harassing family members of a militant. She warned the Governor's administration of serious repercussions if the alleged harassment doesn't stop. Mehbooba during her tenure never left any opportunity to praise the policemen and the security forces. Even when the cases about few officials "misusing their power and position" were brought into her notice, she ignored it. "She maintained criminal silence over unnecessary harassment and atrocities committed by the men in uniform on the respectable citizens when she was sharing power with BJP," said a source. He alleged, "Mehbooba had given a free-hand to police to commit atrocities on the peace loving citizens when people used to approach her with such complaints she used to thrash these...

No one cares for Jammu, Ladakh
1/6/2019 10:54:29 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 6: Sensing the possibility of Assembly elections in J&K, along with the general elections, in May or a little later, the Kashmir based parties like the NC, the PDP and even the Congress have started making preparations to win the coming polls and capturing the government. All the three parties are cautioning the people against what they call "divisive forces", who, according to them, are out to break the state on religious and ethnic lines. By divisive forces, they do not mean terrorists and Hurriyat leaders; by divisive forces they mean those in Jammu and Ladakh, who want reorganization of the state or the status of statehood for Jammu province and Union Te...

The BJP leaders have been boasting of release of a meagre amount of Rs. 5.50 Lakhs to the families of Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) refugees, registered in 1947 but that was actually a betrayal with the refugees. "We had reposed our faith in the leadership of BJP and voted in their favour but BJP virtually betrayed with us by paying us such a paltry sum of Rs. 5.50 Lakhs, which turned out to be merely few thousands to the re...
