Pak terrorists better than 'black sheep' in J&K Police
'Janbaaz sipahis' can stoop to any low to settle personal scores
1/8/2019 11:57:02 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 8: Pakistan terrorists are better than black sheep in Jammu and Kashmir police department. If they want to kill anyone they do it. They don't harass the family members of the victims, but a few black sheep in the police department can go to any extent to make people understand that no one should mess with them. A few policemen can stoop down to any low to settle their personal scores. They can go to any extent to terrify the person whom they want to fall in line. They can harass his children and parents to make the victim understand that they are above the law and no one can stop them. I Munish Gupta, Editor Early Times, on many occasions faced the wrath of the police officers. Whenever any police official wants to silence the Early Times he straightaway starts harassing my parents and children. His tactic is aimed at making me realize that how "powerful" he is and what all he can do. The then Station House Officer Bagh-e-Bahu Vijay Choudhary just to stop Early Times from carrying a news story against him used filthy language and circulated the m...

Police didn't act when anti-national elements threatened us
1/8/2019 11:56:51 PM
Early Times is the only newspaper in Jammu and Kashmir, which without any fear has exposed the real face of separatists. Instead of patting our back for displaying courage and guts to take the separatists head on, J&K Police even refused to entertain our complaint against the anti-national elements, who were threatening us. We were told that "Sahib is busy" and we should come tomorrow. How many tomorrows came and went but nothing was done to trace the accused who had threatened us....

Police ignored Governor's direction
1/8/2019 11:56:42 PM
I Munish Gupta met Governor NN Vohra and informed him about what we underwent during Omar Abdullah's regime. He knew everything as he was a regular reader of Early Times. He marked the letter to the police department to look into our case. Despite the directions being issued by the highest office in the state, police just sat over the issue and the cops from concerned police used to mock at us. We used to get calls from the concerned police station. The cops knew that their political masters are supporting them and no action would be taken. ...

This news report irked the 'powerful' SHO
He circulated what's up messages against us for 10 days after this news was published
1/8/2019 11:56:35 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 1: In an act of open corruption by the nexus involving Jammu and Kashmir Police Personals and the local contractors, the government school building and the road in Jammu's posh locality are being to run as parking places to collect the money from the daily visitors. As per the details available with "Early Times', the height of nexus between police officials and contractors to earn easy money could be gauged from the fact that on the eve of New Year, devotees at Bhawe Wali Mata were forced to pay for parking their vehicles on road and building of Government School, situated on the outskirt of Jammu, merely 2 KM from J&K police headquarter showing monopoly ...

Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report srinagar, Jan 8: A private college owned by a politician of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has yet again hogged the headlines for not one reason but more than that. Despite offering four professional courses at the graduate level the SEM College located at Humhama in the outskirts of Srinagar city is understaffed. PDP leadership to decide about his fate in party
1/8/2019 11:56:09 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 8: While a senior leader of the Peoples Democratic Party had been in news for allegedly conspiring to float a separate political party, his absence at the function held in connection with the death anniversary of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has raised more questions than before. Sources said the PDP leader, who had been close to the Mufti family since the inception of the party, didn't allegedly turn up the function held to pay tributes to the former Chief Minister. Sources said for the past few weeks the said leader had been trying to convince the party leadership that he was loyal to the PDP and that he wouldn't float any separate party. 1/8/2019 11:55:40 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 8: Everyone in Kashmir and Delhi talks about Kashmir, despite the fact that it is the most powerful, pampered and powerful region in the country - a region that has been ruling over the state and controlling all or nearly all the institutions in the state since 1947. All say that the Kashmiri youth are taking to gun because there are no job opportunities in Kashmir. They do not disclose that the rate of unemployment in Kashmir is less than 30 per cent as against over 69 per cent in Jammu. No one talks about Jammu and Ladakh and the problems the people of these regions in general and youth in particular face. The unemployment situation in Ladakh, like Jammu, i...
