10/24/2020 12:48:17 AM
Early times Report Srinagar, Oct 23: Hardening her stand on the restoration of special status for Jammu and Kashmir, the erstwhile state’’s last chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said she was not interested in contesting elections or holding the national tricolour till the constitutional changes enforced on August 5 last year were rolled back. In her first media interaction after her release from 14-month detention, the PDP president said she would hold the tricolour only when the separate flag of the erstwhile state would be restored. “As far as I am concerned, I have no interest in elections. Till the time the Constitution under which I used to contest elections is returned to us, Mehbooba Mufti has got nothing to do with elections, let me tell you that,” she said. Asked if ...

10/24/2020 12:48:01 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 23: In her first press conference after release from detention PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti openly tried to play Muslim and Dalit cards while targeting BJP for, what she alleged, bulldozing constitution of the country. Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 23: The bizarre statement of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti seems to have stirred hornet’s nest among the Gupkar signatories with many of them fearing that the amalgam may not sustain after today’s uncalled for rhetoric. “What Mehbooba Mufti has said is a clear indication that she no longer considers herself as Indian and wouldn’t be accepting the country’s constitution any longer. This is an open sedition. The problem is that she is signatory to the Gupkar resolution signed last year. Recently on October 16- two days after her release- she attended the meeting which was chaired by Farooq Abdullah. However, today’s statement has opened up a Pandora’s box for...
