Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 5: Union Government had imposed nearly two and half-month lockdown only to prepare health institutions across the country to fight the deadly virus in the coming days. Health institutions across the country upgraded infrastructure with equipping the same with advanced equipment but in Jammu region authorities at the helm of the affairs appeared to be only indulged into doing politics on this vital sector. As the health sector is completely collapsed in Jammu region, people are asking genuine questions, what authorities had done during the 75 days long lockdown? Authorities were very much aware that the Centre was going to send ventilators in all states and UTs after the lockdown to treat COVID patients but they never bothered to train staff to handle these ventilators. Instead of making some fresh recruitments and imparting training to the available staff, authorities in the Health Department were indulged into petty politics. Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 5: The Central Government after scrutiny of the submitted figures of budgets framed by the former regimes in Jammu and Kashmir from the financial year 2013 to 2018 has termed it as “unrealistic forecasting.” Documents in possession of Early Times reveal that it was noticed that the revised estimates for 2017-18 for Own Tax Revenue projection was Rs 10,136 crore, while actual realization was Rs 9,536 crore, resulting in downward variation of Rs 600 crore, six per cent below the original forecast. Although after a delay of so many years, the process was completed but the corporation is still sitting on the final selection list. Agencies NEW DELHI, Oct 5: The Centre is likely to permit restoration of high-speed internet services in more districts of Jammu and Kashmir after October 15 but may leave the decision on the names of districts with the state administration and police, said people aware of the matter. 4G services were restored in two districts --Ganderbal and Udhampur, on trial basis by the State administration, in August this year, more than a year after they were suspended.
