TRF commander among 5 militants killed in Kulgam

Early Times Report Kulgam, Nov 17: TRF Commander among five militants were killed in twin gunfights in Gopalpora and Pombai areas in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Wednesday. Reliable sources told Early Times that five militants including district commander of TRF being identified as Afaq Sikander were killed in two different encounters in Kulgam. They further said that three militants were killed in Pombai and two in Gopalpora area. Acting on a specific input, a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Pombai and Gopalpora villages of Kulgam. As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spots, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off gunfights simultaneously at both spots. Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 17: J&K Police on Wednesday said that it averted a major tragedy by arresting two militant associates of Lashkar-e-Toiba and recovered two ready to use Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from the duo. The LeT militant associates identified by police as Amir Bashir and Mukhtar Bhat were arrested by security forces during a joint naka checking. 3 JeM associates arrested with Rs 43 lakh cash

Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 17: Three suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) associates have been arrested from Jammu-Srinagar national highway in the outskirts of Jammu city, a police official said on Wednesday. The police also seized Rs 43 lakh found in their possession during the search, they said. The arrests were made on Tuesday night, when acting on a tip off, security personnel intercepted a Kashmir-bound vehicle at Bann Toll plaza, they said. The three persons were identified as Fayaz, Umar, and Muzim of South Kashmir and turned out to be associates of JeM, they said.
