NC-PDP ‘cold war’ after Mehbooba’s visit to nomad community 11/25/2020 12:05:55 AM Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 24: The recent surprise visit of former Chief Minister and the Peoples Democratic Party, president, Mehbooba Mufti to the tribal community in the upper reaches of Pahalgam in south Kashmir has left the National Conference allegedly annoyed. Whereas both the National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party are key constituents of the so called Gupkar alliance, Mehbooba’s visit to the area, without taking the NC into confidence, is understood to have annoyed latter’s leadership. Sources said some senior leaders from the NC were also planning to the visit the Pahalgam belt as they were “directly related to the nomads.” “NC leaders have relations in the nomad community but to take extra mileage she went ahead and this proved a hiccup,” said a political analyst.
