Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 2: Even as the release of former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party, President, Mehbooba Mufti has boosted party activities, most of the senior leaders are staying away from such events. Sources said the senior leaders of PDP are apprehensive of the strategy adopted by the party to seek restoration of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said despite standing instructions, such leaders including close relatives of Mehbooba have been trying to be in the hiding. A source in the PDP said recently the party had directed the senior leadership to join street protests outside the PDP office in Srinagar. Sources said barring one senior leader, only the youth leaders were visible on the ground on the fateful day. Sources said even for the joint activities with so called Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration, only the youth leaders from the side of PDP can be seen. “While other parties have brought in senior faces, they (PDP) have been reduced to young faces,” said a leader from a nationalist party on the condition of anonym...

Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Nov 2: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 92 percent as 623 virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals today. The union territory reported 385 new cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 95,710. The death toll reached 1490 following eight fresh deaths.
