JKTDC hotel in Srinagar hosts anti-India function

Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 11: In a major embarrassment for the state government, a Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) owned hotel in the heart of Srinagar hosted an anti-India function where the participants spoke against New Delhi. Officials said a former lawmaker from north Kashmir hosted a seminar at the JKTDC owned hotel in Lal Chowk on December 10. The seminar was attended by people from various walks of life including politicians, businessmen and government servants. During the seminar that continued throughout the day, the participants trained their guns at Government of India. One of the organizing participants in his provocative speech said that "Either New Delhi must declare that Kashmiris have no rights or must let the truth come out. The fact is that the Kashmiris are facing worst aggression at the hands of security forces since last 29 years and New Delhi has lost the moral battle". The state assembly was dissolved by Governor Satya Pal Malik on November 21, citing the "impossibility of forming a stable government by the coming together of political parties with opposing political ideologies" and the "fragile security scenario in the state". Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 11: Four policemen were killed in a militant attack on a police post guarding the minority community in Zainapora area of south Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday. A police official said a group of heavily armed militants opened fire at the police post-Zainpora, Shopian, 52 km from here, in the afternoon. In the attack, four policemen suffered fatal bullet wounds. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where all of them succumbed to injuries, he added.
