Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 11: Authorities ultimately awoke from deep slumber to recover rent from government employees who are taking House Rent Allowance (HRA) while living in the accommodation provided by the government. Sources said that a good number of employees were wrongly paid HRA while they are living in the accommodation provided by the different government departments. According to a circular issued by Financial Commissioner, Finance Department, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, “It has been clarified that no HRA is admissible to any such Government employee who is allotted government accommodation or is in occupation of any government accommodation under any pretext, unless of course, expressly provided by any order or rule”. The circular further reads as, “So far as move employees are concerned their HRA is governed by Government Order No. 1376-GAD of 1998 dated 23.10.1998” “ It has also been clarified that in case any amount of HRA has been paid to such Government employee who is residing in any government accommodation such amount shall be recovered from the concern...

Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 11: In total violation of its own transfer policy, the General Administration Department (GAD) has prematurely transferred several employees including Junior/Senior/ Head Assistants and other staff within a span of one year while some employees having stay of over one decade remain untouched by the department due to reasons best known to the authorities concerned. Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 11: Despite incurring the fund to the tune of Rs 1.25 crore on the construction of Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel building at Kalakote in district Rajouri, the project has been laying incomplete even after the lapse of ten years. Sources told Early Times that the work of construction of the Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel building at Kalakote was taken up in 2009-10 at an estimated cost of Rs 2.94 crore in the absence of Administrative Approval. “As per guidelines, the work should have been completed by 2011-12.
