Kashmir centric rulers neglected Jammu monuments

EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 12: The ancient monuments in Jammu province have faced utter neglect since decades due to Kashmir centric policy of the former rulers. People of Jammu are hoping that with J&K’s transition into a union territory and change in dispensation the ancient sites and monuments that were left unattended by the Kashmir based politicians will get due attention and separate funds will be earmarked for maintaining and developing these sites. According to the latest details the historical monuments/ sites of Jammu province have been clubbed under Srinagar Circle. As per data of Tourism Department, an updated list of list of monuments under the jurisdiction of Archaeological Survey of India Srinagar Circle has 56 monuments but only 15 of them are in Jammu region, while 41 are in Kashmir. Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 12: There seems to be a mess in the Department of Agriculture in the Kashmir valley as around 50 percent of the drivers in the department seldom attend to their duties as most of the times they are busy in doing jobs other than the government job.
