Beigh-Bukhari meeting triggers speculations
Mehbooba’s PDP on last legs; former J&K CM left alone
2/19/2020 9:07:34 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 19: The recent meeting between senior PDP leader, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh and the PDP rebel Altaf Bukhari in Jammu has triggered speculations that both the leaders have buried the hatchet and are likely to join hands. An analyst while talking to Early Times said that if Beigh decides to say goodbye to the Peoples Democratic Party it would mean that the party led by the former J&K chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti, is over. “Muzaffar Beigh was the last hope for PDP to remain alive but his moving out could prove to be the last nail in PDP’s coffin,” the analyst added. He said that Mehbooba Mufti, who has been under detention for the past six months, seems to have given up hope on her party. “Mehbooba seems to be aware of the fact that her party stands decimated and no one is standing by her side. Mehbooba’s daughter, Iltija Mufti, running her mother’s twitter handle and few second rung PDP leaders making some noise occasionally are the only visible signs of the PDP’s existence at present,” the analyst added. The political scenario in Jammu and Kashmir h...
