Crime Branch fails to act in fraud cases against top cops | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 18: The Crime Branch Jammu is maintaining silence over complaints against the police officials involved in cases of fraud and cheating? And if they've ever acted on any complaint, it was possible only after the intervention of the High Court.
Though many officers, who are seen as honest, have headed the Crime Branch during the last 10 years, they too have spared their accused colleagues. Not even one case against the top police officers or influential 'VVIPs' was taken to the conclusion.
The official documents with Early Times indicate that even the cases, which had been registered in 2012, continue to be under investigation for the reasons best known to those who have headed the Crime Branch during the last four years.
According to the documents, a case was registered against constable Saif-ud-Din, son of Qasim Din, a resident of village Jallu in Gandoh tehsil of Doda, in the Crime Branch in 2015 for having cheated one Raj Kumar Gupta.
