Official orders trashed with impunity
4/25/2019 11:20:35 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 25: Confusion is prevailing within the administration of Jammu and Kashmir, with the result that such a situation has emerged where even government orders are sidelined and trashed with impunity. The fiasco which is being witnessed due to the one-month additional salary of the polling staff seems unending. Though the government issued cleat cut directions that all the claims must be settled by April 24, nothing happened even when the set date is over. The circular number of 22 of GAD dated 16-04-2019 reads: Vide Government Order No 1789 - GAD of 2018 dated 20 12 2018, all the Drawing and Disbursing Officers were directed to draw the one month of salary/wages/remuneration in respect of employees, borne on the establishment of the offices only after taking a certificate to be issued by the concerned authorities to the effect that they performed the election related duties/Panchayat Elections. Despite above instructions, it has been observed that the claims of payment of one month additional salary/wages/remuneration in favour of the employees who ...

Revolt in Ladakh Congress
4/25/2019 11:20:15 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 25: A few days ago, it appeared that the Congress would turn tables on the BJP by avenging its 2014 defeat it suffered at the hands of Thupstan Chhewang, a top Buddhist leader and son-in-law of Queen of Ladakh Rani Parvati. The Congress poll prospects appeared quite bright because the BJP had failed to fulfill its two 2014 solemn commitments - UT to Ladakh and inclusion of Bhoti language in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution. The BJP did try to conciliate the estranged people of the Leh by granting separate University for Ladakh and also granting divisional status to the region, but with no result and things remained under control as far as the Congre...

4/25/2019 11:19:59 PM

Omar, Mehbooba further widening gulf between regions
4/25/2019 11:19:48 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 25: Inter-regional relations between Jammu and Kashmir and between Ladakh and the Valley were never cordial. Thanks to the politics of separatism being indulged in by Kashmiri leaders. That was the reason that the people in Ladakh and Jammu raised from time to time demands ranging from Union Territory status to full-fledged statehood. And it started happening in November 1947 itself, just a few days after the accession of the state to India. In Ladakh, the Head Lama Koshuk Bakula demanded separation of the trans-Himalayan region from Kashmir and sought its merger with Jammu province or Himachal Pradesh. In Jammu, Prof Balraj Madhok and other Jan Sangh leaders...

Changing colours of Farooq, Mehbooba
4/25/2019 11:19:40 PM

"Poll boycott has led to killings and bloodshed in the past. Did these so called poll boycotts relieve you of your problems? Guns will never help us achieve anything," he said.
