NC divided over AIIMS for Jammu
Akbar Lone differs with party colleagues like Rana and Rather
4/26/2015 10:58:45 PM
Ahmed Ali Fayyaz _______ SRINAGAR, April 26: Senior National Conference leader, MLA from Sonawari and former Minister and Speaker of Legislative Assembly Mohammad Akbar Lone has virtually snubbed his party colleagues, including Devender Singh Rana and Abdul Rahim Rather, for supporting demand of different political and non-political organisations for establishment of a major hospital on the pattern on All India Institute of Medical Sciences [AIIMS]. Without mentioning anybody’s name but with clear insinuation to Rana and Rather, Lone reportedly told Kashmir News Service on Sunday that “some short-sighted NC leaders” had toed the Jammu-based organisations’ line over the demand of AIIMS to Jammu without any discussion in the party’s Working Committee. According to Lone,”some leaders of the National Conference have lately been promoting this perverse mind-set”. “Unfortunately some short-sighted NC leaders have been compromising the party's stand in this behalf. Our party did not protest when the Centre sanctioned an IIT [Indian Institute of Technology] for Jammu. Whether the par...

No AIIMS to Jammu
4/26/2015 10:58:26 PM
Early times Report JAMMU, Apr 26: On Friday, Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Nirmal Singh declared that his party would not allow any power on earth to “snatch AIIMS from Kashmir” and charged the Congress and the NC with playing double-game on the issue. (On February 28, Union Finance Minister and ...

AIIMS issue: RSS of confusion
4/26/2015 10:58:09 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 26: Strange is the working of the RSS. It has several organs some of which tread diametrically opposite paths. It became clear on the eve of Jammu bandh, on the day of bandh and a day after people of Jammu province exhibited their resolve and strength by observing a massive bandh. Bandh was organized and supported by all the non-BJP parties and civil society groups and their targets were the state BJP leadership and national BJP leadership, including PM Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and BJP national general secretary and in-charge J&K BJP Ram Madhav, who, it is believed, finalized the “agenda of Alliance” with the PDP. On the eve of the ban...

Of NC’s hypocrisy and BJP’s dilemma
New Recruitment Policy
4/26/2015 10:57:47 PM
Abodh Sharma By shedding crocodile tears over the New Recruitment Policy of the BJP- PDP Coalition Government, the Ordinance of which was sent to the Governor, the National Conference has not only presented the most glaring example of political hypocrisy, but has also brazenly undermined the public opinion and objectivity. One needs not scratch one’s head to recall that the NC-Congress Coalition had brought much cruder version of the Recruitment Policy that threatened to change the lives of the youth of the state and when several political and social organizations tried to challenge the draconian Recruitment Policy in the court of law, the NC led Coalition Government ensured that it t...
