Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 5: The next census of India will be carried out in 2021 with 1 March of that year as the reference date, the Home Ministry has announced. A notification to the effect that the decision has been taken by the central government under the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Census Act, 1948 (37 of 1948). "The central government hereby declares that a census of the population of India shall be taken during the year 2021," the notification said. However, it also said that census would be held in Jammu & Kashmir in October, and not in March 2021. Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 5: Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has received third notice from the National Investigating Agency. He has been asked to appear at the NIA headquarters in New Delhi on April 8 in connection with the terror funding case. Prior to this, the NIA had sent two notices to Mirwaiz asking him to appear before the agency for questioning but he didn't go citing security reasons. An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "If Mirwaiz refuses to go this time he could be arrested and taken to New Delhi for questioning."
