Srinagar, May 9: While Jammu is setting national example of discipline in fighting Covid-19, the number of coronavirus positive cases has been on rise in Kashmir as the people of the winter capital region look unwilling to adhere to the norms of the lockdown thereby risking lives everyone.
Officials said the public reluctance in Kashmir is despite the fact that hundreds of them have faced legal action in the last over a month.
Sharing figures the official said around a hundred persons have been arrested in the last over a month long lockdown while around a thousand have been booked for various offences linked to violation of the lockdown.

Srinagar, May 9: There has been a significant decline in home grown militancy in Kashmir, according to data compiled by the security agencies.
Details reveal that the recruitment of locals in terror outfits has shown decline since 2018.
While 219 Kashmiris joined militancy during 2018, the numbers further dropped to 119 in 2019. The recruitment of Kashmiri militants has further declined ever since.
According to details, only 35 Kashmiris have taken to militancy in 2020 up till May.

SRINAGAR, May 9: Thirteen persons including two staff nurses of Super Specialty Hospital, Srinagar today tested positive for Corona Virus. With the fresh cases reported today the number of positive cases of COVID-19 is 836 in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Reports said that four cases were reported from Ganderbal district followed by Srinagar, Shopian and Kupwara with two cases each. A case each has been reported from Kulgam and Pulwama districts of South Kashmir. One case has also been reported from the Kathua district in Jammu division.
