TOP STORY OF THE DAY
JKBOSE: A choicest posting for ambitious officials
Against tenure of 3 yrs, many stay for 6-7 yrs
5/17/2018 12:14:45 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, May 16: The JK Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has become a favourite destination for a large number of officials who join the Board and later make extraordinary efforts to retain the post rather than returning to their parent departments. It could be corroborated from the posting of many officials in the last many years who had overstayed there against the maximum tenure of three years due to various benefits including pecuniary. Sources informed Early Times that the posting in the JKBOSE is on deputation basis for two years and extension of one more year is given to the officials, but the officials don't return. Starting with the posting of JR Rathore as Secretary in JKBOSE against the maximum tenure of three years, he remained there for over six years and also became its Chairman. Another was Bashir Ahmed Dar, who had joined the BOSE as Deputy Director and was then promoted as Director Academics and then Secretary. He remained in the Board for over 10 years. Prof. Abdul Rashid Mattu and Prof. MA Charu remained in the Board for more than three ...

PDP-BJP 'strained' relationship led to flyover's hasty inauguration
5/17/2018 12:13:47 AM

Sources said the PDP-BJP relations have turned so strained that the PDP was even apprehensive to wait for a month more for the "Phase I of the project to complete fully." 'Ceasefire decision in J&K likely to backfire'
5/17/2018 12:13:23 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, May 16: The BJP led NDA government at the Centre has made yet another attempt to appease it's ally Peoples Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir by announcing ceasefire in Ramadan month. No to CBI probe in Kathua case, yes to Ramzan ceasefire
5/17/2018 12:13:10 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 16: BJP's appeasement policy has assumed dangerous proportions. This is what today's Union home Ministry's decision on ceasefire during the month of Ramzan suggests. It also suggests that the Narendra Modi Government and the BJP are on different pages. It was on May 9 that Chief Minister stated that there was consensus in the all-party meeting -- held in Srinagar -- over the issue of unilateral ceasefire in Kashmir during the month of Ramzan. A day later, J&K BJP and newly-appointed Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta contested the Chief Minister's claim and said there was no consensus in the meeting as claimed and that they were opposed to the idea of un...

5/17/2018 12:13:05 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 16: By announcing unilateral ceasefire for the holy month of Ramzan, central leadership of BJP has not only discredited but also humiliated its state unit. Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh while unilaterial announcing ceasefire has made it clear that for central leadership of BJP, Engineer Rashid is more impotant than 25 party MLAs.
