Befooling Finance deptt, new projects forwarded under LPS

Early Times Report Jammu, May 16: With an implicit motive of getting easy funds by befooling the Finance department, several government departments have been reportedly sending new projects' proposal under Languishing Projects Scheme (LPS). Sources informed Early Times that the Finance department had initiated a LPS according to which a department has to select the projects of various departments, which have been failed to complete after lapse of several years. "After the selection of the languishing projects the Finance department has to fund the same projects, so that they could be completed without any further delay", sources said, adding that the delay of the projects ultimately increase the liabilities to the department. Sources said that taking advantage of the LPS, some of the government departments have started sending the new projects under the LPS to get easy funds.
