| Cop killed, daughter injured in Srinagar terror attack | | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 24: A Jammu and Kashmir policeman was killed, while his daughter was injured in a militant attack in Srinagar on Tuesday, Police said.
The attack took place in Anchar Soura area.
“Terrorist fired upon one policeman Saifullah Qadri S/o Mohd Syed Qadri, R/o Malik Saab, in Soura (Anchar) area.
He is critically injured. His daughter also got injured,” a police tweet said.
“The injured police personnel succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom. We pay our rich tributes to the martyr and stand by the family at this critical juncture,” another tweet said.
Soon after the incident, the whole area was cordoned off to nab the attackers.

Srinagar, May 24: Forget huge automatic rifles, militants are now relying on portable pistols to keep the pot of turbulence boiling in Kashmir, officials informed on Tuesday.
Police said so far this year they have recovered 130 pistols from militants.
“Out of them, 35 were seized during various encounters and rest have recovered from various modules,” Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Vijay Kumar said
The large seizure of small arms this year is a clear indication that militants are now more into “target killings” which is emerging as a major challenge for the entire security grid.

Srinagar, May 24: Security forces have busted a module of Jaish-e-Mohammad in Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora sub district by arresting eight militant associates, police said on Tuesday.
They said the preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested men were involved in providing shelter, logistics and transportation of arms and ammunition to two Jaish militants in the area.
A police spokesman said the arrests were made based on specific input and several suspects were detained and further leads were developed that led security forces to bust the module operating in Awantipora.

Pune, May 24: A 28- years old Junaid Mohammad, who is suspected to be a terrorist was arrested on Tuesday in connection with receiving funding from a Kashmir based terrorist organisation.
He will be produced in Pune court for further remand today, said an ATS officer of Pune.
After receiving a tip off, the ATS carried out a major operation in Dapodi area of Pune and arrested him. He was in regular touch with a terrorist organization in Kashmir.
He is accused of being funded by the ‘Gajwate Al Hind’ militant group in Kashmir.
He came in contact with this organisation through social media, police said.

Srinagar, May 24: Three civilians were injured in a grenade attack on a naka party of police and CRPF at Yaripora area of Kulgam district on Tuesday evening.
An official said that militants hurled a grenade and also fired upon a naka party of CRPF and Police in Yaripora, however, it missed the target and exploded away from them.
He said that in the incident, three civilians received injuries, who have been shifted to hospital, where their condition is said to be stable.
