Shabir Shah funded terrorists to carry out attacks in J&K: ED informs court | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 22: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday opposed the bail plea of Kashmiri separatist Shabir Shah and further accused him of colluding with Pakistan to create unrest in Jammu and Kashmir.
In its reply filed in response to the bail petition of Shabir Shah in a Delhi court, the ED stated, “Shabir Shah was also involved in terror financing activities as terrorists need money to sustain themselves and to carry out terrorist acts.”
“Money-laundering is the method by which criminals disguise the illegal origins of their wealth and protect their asset bases, so as to avoid the suspicion of law enforcement agencies and prevent leaving a trail of incriminating evidence,” it added.
An official said, “Separatists, including Shabir Shah, Yasin Malik, Nayeem Khan, Asiya Andrabi and many others, have been cut to size. They are in jails as the investigating agencies have established their links with terror groups and their handlers sitting across the Line of Control.”
