Kashmir's political scene
7/19/2014 12:04:24 AM
Rustam JAMMU, July 18: The ruling NC and the main opposition PDP are engaged in a bitter war of words. The struggle for dominating the Kashmir's election scene is, in fact, becoming more and more shrill with each passing day. The NC, which suffered a massive defeat in the Lok Sabha election and could not lead even in 10 out of 46 assembly segments in Kashmir Valley, including Ganderbal and Hazratbal, considered its pocket boroughs, is so afraid of the PDP that it has started leveling serious but unsubstantiated charges against the PDP leadership in its desperate bid to deflect the people's attention away from the real issues and strike a chord with the Kashmiri constituency. It has turn...

Bhim terms rebels as political persons
Speaking separatists' language
7/18/2014 11:21:10 PM
Neha JAMMU, July 18 : Does the chief patron of JKNPP Bhim Singh represent nationalist sentiment in the real sense of the term or does he speak occasionally the language of separatists and those who have been attacking the institution of the India State? Sadly, Bhim Singh has been airing views which run counter to the stands of the integrationists on separatists, on those put behind bars on the ground that they indulged in anti-national activities, on the aggressor Pakistan and on the perpetrator of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, founder of dreaded Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Hafiz Saeed. Believe it or not, but it is a fact that he defended Ved Pratap Vaidik's meeting with Hafiz...
