7/26/2018 11:30:01 PM
Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, July 26: The Jammu & Kashmir Bank may lose out to a private bank when it comes to opening of salary accounts of the employees working in the different government departments in the state. A government department has already started the process and one can expect that the other government departments would follow suit. This is despite the fact that Jammu & Kashmir Bank is the government banker and the government employees are operating the accounts in the various branches of the bank. Irony is that a Commissioner Secretary level officer has written to the Director of a government department asking to facilitate the operation of the private bank in his particular department. A full-fledged communication has been sent in this regard and the Director concerned is not expected to turn down the favour. Sources in the office of Commissioner Secretary, Agriculture Production Department told Early Times that Commissioner Secretary of the department wrote a letter to Director Agriculture, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi last week asking him to facilitate...
