E-Governance impaired: 23 out of 73 IAS officers conceal their mobile number

Avinash Azad Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 24: Showing thumb to e-governance initiative, atleast 25 percent IAS officers in J&K including some deputy commissioners have concealed their mobile from GAD as well as the department they are serving in so that they can avoid calls from the department as well general public. Sources in GAD informed Early Times that out 73 IAS officers, 23 have concealed their mobile numbers, for reasons best known to them. "Government is paying mobile bills of officers to rank of secretaries and above, including DCs and SSPs and they have no moral right no to declare their contact details" said an official of the GAD. They further said that as a circular issued by the Finance Department, the allottees of the Cell Phones should purchase Cell Phone, observing all codal formalities. "If they are enjoying free perks, they should justify it. Several DCs have not declared their mobile numbers on the website of their respective districts", he added. Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 24: Stooping to another low of barbarity, the militants have killed a man who was offering prayers at his residence in Kashmir but those who chant pro-Islam slogans to try demean India are silent on the barbaric killing. Officials said forest guard Tariq Ahmad Malik was killed while he was offering Nimaz in his kitchen in Kunzer, Tangmarg on late Thursday evening. The slain was identified as Tariq, 45, son of Sonaullah Malik, resident of Zandpal area in Kunzer, Tangmarg.
