"Criticism has the potential of lowering morale of Jawans" Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 12: Former J&K Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's (presently Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha) statement that rescue operations in the Valley are being conducted on selective basis favoring VIPs , influential, tourist and non-local while ignoring the locals has drawn severe criticism the former Army Commanders, strategic affairs experts and the people as a whole. Replying to a national television on a query put forth that rescue operations are alleged to be favoring the tourists and non-locals first, Azad said that he had information about such exercise conducted through rescue operations "I am doubtful if the Army is well versed with the geographical terrain of the Valley and which helicopter is going which way to rescue the people, but it is fact that VIPs, influential ones are being given preference while ignoring the needy ones," said Azad. Syed Junaid Hashmi JAMMU, Sept 12: 2602 residential houses have got fully damaged, 130 roads and 84 bridges have got washed away while 202 schools have either been declared unsafe or have got fully damaged in Poonch district during the recent flash floods. Bijay Charak JAMMU, Sept 12: In winter capital of state and its adjoining areas, around 54 Ayurvedic dispensaries are running in violation of Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) guidelines since there is no proper infrastructure for these health centers. Moreover, none of these health centers have its own building. Sources said out of 54 Ayurvedic dispensaries, 29 were running in rented buildings and 11 on internal arrangement basis without any proper accommodation.
