University of Kashmir pushes mercy chance candidates to wall
Asks them to pay Rs 5000 as examination fee for one paper

Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 14: Students desirous of clearing their examination from University of Kashmir under the mercy chance category have been pushed to the wall by varsity authorities since they would have to pay a huge sum for appearing in the examinations. A notice issued by Assistant Controller of Examinations has said that a candidate seeking mercy chance to clear the examination would have to pay Rs. 5,000 per paper for appearing in such an examination. It has been mentioned in the notice that the candidate would have to pay Rs. 5,000 as charges for one paper. "The online examination forms for eligible candidates of M Ed annual pattern (batch 2013 backlog and division improvement) and mercy chance candidates of batches 2010, 2011 and 2012 shall be available on the university website www.kashmiruniversity.net from 13/9/2018 to 20/9/2018 for backlog/division improvement and from 22/9/2018 to 26/9/2018 along with fee receipt," reads the notice. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 14: As the Jammu region particularly Doda and Kishtiwar districts, with tough terrain had witnessed a steep increase in the accidents over the past few years, the state government seems to have forgotten what needs to be done to curb the rising menace of road accidents. Latest tragic accident was on Friday when 17 people lost their live in a minibus accident in Kishtwar district. According to the official figures, around 6,000 road accidents largely in Jammu region have been reported annually for the last two years in the state.
