Peerzada Ummer Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 22: At a time when the government is beating the trumpet of modernising the state with latest technology, startling revelations about how state is reeling under the backwardness arecoming to fore. As per the government records, there are no less than 108 villages in Jammu and Kashmir that have not seen electricity till date. The records are falsifying that claims of many about Jammu getting a lion's share in development than Kashmir. As per the records, if there are 62 villages of Jammu un-electrified, in Kashmir valley the number of such villages is mere 27 while as in Ladakh province, such villages are 19 in number. The documents in possession of the Early Times reveal that in Jammu region of the state, there are villages and hamlets in hundreds reeling under the darkness in 21st century and the inhabitants of these areas haven't seen electricity till date.
