Govt sacks six more ‘terror-friendly’ employees

Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 22: Intensifying campaign against ‘terrorist-friendly’ employees in the administration, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday sacked six more employees including two constables and two teachers. These employees have been terminated from service under sub-clause (c) of the provision of clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India in the interest of the nation. The designated committee constituted to single-out terror friendly employees in the Union Territory of J&K, has recommended termination of these in its meeting. These employees were working as overground workers (OGWs) for various terror outfits active in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Shockingly those terminating from government services including two constables of Jammu and Kashmir Police and their direct involvement in the terror activities have been established by the investigating agencies. States to provide Rs 50,000 compensation for each Covid death: Centre

Agencies New Delhi, Sept 22: The families of those who die of Covid will receive Rs 50,000 ex gratia from the state governments, the Centre informed the Supreme Court today. Significantly, compensation will be paid against not only for deaths that have already occurred but for future ones, too, the court was told. The funds will be paid by state governments, sourced from their respective disaster response funds, and will be channelled through the District Disaster Management Authority or the district administrations, the government said in an affidavit filed before with the Supreme Court today. After 67 days, J&K records over 200 Covid cases in a day

Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 22: Even as authorities have given COVID relaxation due to improvement in the situation, for the first time after 67 days, Jammu and Kashmir recorded over 200 single day Corona positive cases on Wednesday. During the last 24 hours, 204 cases have been reported- 45 from the Jammu division and 159 from Kashmir Valley, taking the total count to 328418. Agencies New Delhi, Sept 22: The measures taken by the Indian Army to protect its troops from COVID-19 in its initial phase last year benefitted it in tackling the Chinese aggression in Eastern Ladakh as it was in a high state of operational preparedness during that time, Army chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane said on Wednesday. Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 22: Security forces on Wednesday destroyed sticky bombs recovered nearly one month ago along with Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
