Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 24: The Peoples Democratic Party has been allegedly irked by the “silence” of the National Conference Member Parliaments over “continued arrest” of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti. Sources said the PDP has expressed dismay over the “silence” of the NC MPs in the Parliament during the Parliament session over the issue of detention of the woman leader. Sources said the PDP leadership had got it conveyed to senior NC leader Omar Abdullah that his father and MP Dr Farooq Abdullah’s silence on Mehbooba was “shocking and shameful”. Sources said the PDP leaders are understood to have conveyed it to Omar that through his aides that “NC has duped other parties through its moodswings.” “If the NC MPs couldn’t raise the issue of our leader what can be expected from such a party of double speak,” a source quoted PDP as having said. Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 24: Despite clear directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs to renew arms licenses online, manually renewed licenses are in circulation in clear violation of the Arms Act. Sources told Early Times that agents are allegedly getting these licenses renewed manually and it looks like a part of big nexus. Before 2017 arms license used to get renewed manually but after digitalization of arms record, it was made mandatory to get the arms licence of every individual renewed through an online process thereby manual renewal was termed invalid. Road accidents in J&K on rise, admin seeks report

Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 24: Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken a serious note of the rising road accidents and has sought a detailed report from concerned departments over the measures taken to prevent mishaps. The data reveals that there were as many as 8733 persons who got injured in 6067 road accidents in just three years. Deaths due to road accidents in J&K were also high compared to many other states. The number of persons dying in road accidents in the same period was 892, that means almost 300 deaths every year. Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 24: The COVID-19 recovery rate has improved in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir since recoveries have outnumbered fresh cases over the past few days. As on date the recovery rate is 70 percent with 48,079 virus affected patients have recovered out of total number 68,614 positive cases. According to the official media bulletin on Corona Virus 1,549 patients recovered today while as 1,104 fresh cases of virus were reported during the same period.
