Admin to appoint more SPOs in Kashmir, Jammu to wait

Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 27: In yet another case of apparent discrimination with Jammu, the Jammu and Kashmir Administration has decided to recruit hundreds of Special Police Officer (SPO)s in Kashmir Province. Official sources said in the first phase around 1000 SPOs are being appointed from various districts. Official documents revealed that decision has already been given go ahead for districts including Baramulla, Bandipura, Pulwama and Awantipura alone adding that the aspirants have to be from the concerned district alone meaning that no one from Jammu will be able to apply for the post. Even though militancy has revived in Jammu province and several deadly attacks have taken place in areas like Doda region and even in the heart of Jammu city, no such recruitment drive for SPOs has taken place in winter capital or Doda region in recent past. Security analyst said it should have been the priority of the administration to recruit SPOs from Jammu district to prevent terrorist from spreading tentacles in the region.
