Early Times Report

Kishtwar, Nov 17: Union Minister Jitendra Singh has criticized Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for seeking funds for the relief and rehabilitation of flood victims and failing to distribute and expend the funds provided by the centre. While talking to Early Times on the sideline of a public rally in Nagsini area of Kishtwar constituency, Dr. Jitendra Singh Minister of State in Prime Minister Office (PMO) said that successive governments in J&K have failed to utilized the funds worth crores allocated by the center to state, added that same could be judged from the lack of development in state of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that he was astonished to learn that there were only two graduates in Nagsini area. He said that the present political system had not allowed the local people to avail the benefits of government schemes. "Center has been generous in providing funds to the state--- but there are some politicians who conspired to prevent common people from moving towards the path of development" said Dr. Jitendra Singh adding that only BJP government led by Prime Minister NarindraModi is in a position to provide justice to the common people in terms of providing better and corruption free government in the state. He said that union government provided hundreds of crores in last few months to the state government for flood affected families of Kashmir. "We (union government) provided them double then the state government demanded--- now sometime they (state government) demanded Rs 20000 Cr, then Rs 40000 Cr and now they are demanding Rs 80000 Cr in the name of flood relief" said Dr. Jitendra. He said that people till date have voted for people who robbed them and urged upon the people to vote for BJP candidate Sunil Sharma who is honest and dedicated. Reacting to the statement of JKPCC President Saif-ud-Din Soz and former Union Minister Salman Khurshid that Prime Minister Narindra Modi and crowds in BJP functions are stage managed, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that "I think it is evident and can be seen even in my today's function--- these are innocent peoples of far flung areas who traveled miles to attend today's function just because of their affinity, love and affection towards Prime Minister Narindra Modi and his party BJP". In a question regarding former Chief Minister GhulamNabi Azad allegation that BJP hand cannot be rule out in appearance of Hizb posters in valley asking people not to vote, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, "We have no time to talk what somebody else says-we are busy and too much focused on our election campaign in the state where people are giving over whelming response to the party". He said that BJP's major concern is to live up to the expectation of the people.
