Jammu, Aug 2: More skeletons have started tumbling out of cupboards as it has come to fore that Revenue department had prepared the list of fake Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) and had also issued orders in June, but government kept the same under abeyance, under pressure from ministers of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).
Sources informed Early Times that Jammu and Kashmir Revenue department, after thorough discussion over the fake PRC holders' lists, issued orders of cancellation in the month of June.
"The cancellation orders were typed and signed by the Revenue department but in the meantime, General Administration Department (GAD) came to rescue of these fake PRC holders and kept Revenue department order under abeyance", sources informed.
They said the lobby of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leaders burnt mid-night oil to save these fake PRC holders. "Majority of the fake PRC holders are financers of BJP and its leaders, who donate huge money during every election campaign of all political parties, whichever comes in power. When they heard that their PRCs are going to be cancelled, they knocked the doors of BJP leaders, who in turn pressurized government to put orders on hold", sources said.
They alleged that money to the tune of several Crores exchanged hands to put the fake PRC certificate holders list on hold.
Sources informed that list forwarded by SSC to Revenue department comprised around 130 names besides many other influential families of Jammu, which were also fake PRC holders but their names didn't find any mention. "Either the fake PRC holder families have got their names erased from the list by giving huge money or there will be another list prepared by State Subject Commission, which will be published after first list", sources said, adding that if one list would be out there would be less hurdles in publication of second or third list, so these fake PRC holders exerted pressure upon government to put the issue on hold.
"More than one month has passed since the list of fake PRC holders was put in abeyance by GAD since then authorities have maintained silence over the issue," sources said.
Pertinently, Early Times had exclusively published the list of fake PRC holders comprising 130 families, including some top businessmen of Jammu.
