Agitation for AIIMS: Credibility of BJP reaches to lowest ebb
8/3/2015 12:13:27 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 2: The ongoing agitation for setting up of a full-fledged AIIMS is scripting new chapter in the history of Jammu city because first time since 1947 the most pious building, known as "Panditji Je De Kothi" at Kachi Chowni was stoned by residents of the old city. Everyone in the city is asking "What are the reasons why people were forced to throw stone on a building which was more or less considered as temple by the people of old city?". The only reply is "betrayal" by the selfless and self-centred incumbent leadership of BJP which can go to any extent for the lust of power. Not only popularity of the BJP has gone down rapidly on AIIMS issue but the party's credibility is also reached at low ebb due to attitude of some leaders.
The on-going agitation has also created history in the sense that first time after 1947 Jammu has observed complete and unprecedented bandh for continuous 72 hours on a call which has been given against BJP, which is part of the Sangh, who has strong hold in Jammu city. Sangh is also helpless to pacify the people who are more or less supporters of Hindu organisations.
An aged supporter of BJP, who had worked with Pandit Prem Nath Dogra during Praja Parishad movement, rued on entire development. "We have never even think in our dreams that who have to see a day when people of Jammu would be forced to throw stones on the Kothi of Panditji", he said.
There is feeling among people of Jammu region that it was fault on the part of the state leaders that a big controversy has been erupted on AIIMS. Truncoats have virtually captured BJP in Jammu and Kashmir and they are become blue-eyed boys of some central leaders. They regretted that Central leadership is not going through the family background of those leaders who have given important positions in the party. The families, who had opposed Praja Parishad and Jan Sangh agitation from time to time as touts of the then regimes, have hijacked the party. Members of such families are giving directions to BJP these days.
