Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 2: An Additional Director General of police (ADGP) is being made to suffer since October 19 last because of the Government "indecision" to upgrade the post of Police Training Academy (PTA), Udhampur, Director from the rank of an IGP to that of ADGP. In the October 19 reshuffle, ADGP Dilbagh Singh was transferred from Police Housing Corporation to the PTA, as its Director. Since the post of the Director, which was earlier held by an IGP rank officer, was to be upgraded to the rank of an ADGP, it has so far not been done by the Government as a result of which Dilbagh is yet to join his new place of posting even after two weeks of his transfer. He is at present taking rounds of the police headquarters (PHQ). Though the State Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, had approved his transfer order, it surprisingly did not approve the upgradation of the post, police sources said. IG (headquarters, PHQ) Arun Kumar had replaced Dilbagh as MD of Police Housing Corporation. In the October 19 reshuffle, PTA Director Rajesh Kumar was transferred and posted as IG (headquarters, PHQ) in place of Arun. But Rajesh is still not relieved from the PTA. He would get relieved only after Dilbagh takes over the charge from him. Due to the Government indecision to upgrade the PTA Director's post for an ADGP rank officer, Rajesh was also unable to assume charge of his new assignment as a result of which the post of IG (headquarters, PHQ) was also lying vacant. Sources said due to the inordinate Government delay in this regard, Dilbagh and Rajesh were unable to join their new places of posting. |
