Jammu, Mar 25:After heated arguments on social networking site with Vice Chancellor University, some scholars have sought Chancellor's intervention in submission of their thesis.
According to sources the scholars being supervised by former Deputy Chief Minister Prof Nirmal Singh have sought chancellor's intervention for timely submission of their thesis.
"We the scholars of Prof. Nirmal Singh former Dy.CM are begging your kind intervention in our cause, first of all we are on the verge of our Ph.D. thesis submission. But earlier we were trapped under the incomplete Resolution of 1987, but two scholars of the Prof. Singh have already submitted their thesis, when he was Dy CM," the scholar wrote to Governor NN Vohra, who is also Chancellor of the University.
They further apprised the chancellor that university authorities specially, Vice-Chancellor taking it personally and always tried to make hindrance in their work through the HOD History and didn't allow them to give the abstract presentation.
"We again went to the High Court and court gave us an order to do the presentation, submission of the thesis cum viva and if authority try to make any hindrance please come back to court as Justice Kotwal told us", the scholar written in their complaint sent to governor house.
"We submitted the abstract in the History department on February 23, 2016 and the authorities didn't forward the same for further process and kept the abstract in the department still. Now we are really worried for our thesis and future", they wrote.
"Please give order to the University to forward the abstract to evaluation section, so that we can do and submit our thesis in time as April 30 i.e. is the last date of our thesis submission cum future", they requested upon the governor.
Earlier there was war on word of social networking sites where some scholars have expressed their resentment.
"Vice-Chancellor, petty politics is going on in University of Jammu and you are aware of this so please first finished this……………………why the research scholars in the University of Jammu become scapegoat just before the submission of the thesis", expressing his resentment, Skalzang Dorjey, a scholar posted on VC's wall.
However in his reply of social site the VC wrote "Jammu University is under obligation to defend its rules."
Not satisfied with, what VC wrote on his wall another scholar Kapil Sharma wrote, "Hon'ble High Court issued two orders to the University authority first one is stay order against the incomplete Resolution of 1987 second is for abstract presentation and thesis submission.......but university authority misinterpreted the civil society and other faculties that the case is going on in the High Court against this scholars.......there is no case at all......statutes must revisited sir Specially Resolution of 1987 besides that there should be a Inter University Transfer Policy should establish, Implementation of Bio-Metric Attendance for faculty and non-teaching at the most........Politics is the soul of democracy we can't deny that University must adopt Lygndoh Committee so that main stakeholders (students) have their own voice against the injustice and dictatorship...."
Head of Department of History, University of Jammu Prof Shailnder Singh's cell phone was not reachable.
