Govt formation giving sleepless nights to JU VC

Early times Report
JAMMU, Mar 25: As PDP-BJP coalition is all set to once again form Government in Jammu and Kashmir within days, the political development is giving sleepless nights to the Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof RD Sharma.
Prof Sharma is apprehensive of his being taken to task for the wrongdoings and more particularly for his vicious campaign against the saffron brigade, its students wing and then Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh.
Even as Prof Sharma was hostile to the trio ever since he took over as Vice-Chancellor of Jammu University, he had intensified his offensive after the PDP-BJP Government ceased to exist following the death of then Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed and consequent imposition of Governor's rule in the State.
Hostility of the Vice-Chancellor had begun after he banned holding of RSS Shakha on the campus and this was increasing day by day. Recently, the VC did not allow ABVP to hold even a blood donation camp inside the university though the Speaker Kavinder Gupta was chief guest of the event. Such an extent of enmity towards the student organization had even forced the Speaker to openly criticize the Vice-Chancellor for his alleged anti-student and dictatorial attitude.
Besides, enmity between Dr Nirmal Singh and RD Sharma was talk of the town and both of them did not miss any opportunity to harm each other. A number of times, they have been found talking low against each other even publically. Before Nirmal Singh could tighten noose around the Vice-Chancellor, the Governor's rule was imposed and this had led to more attacks by Prof Sharma.
However, the recent political development and possible formation of a PDP-BJP Government has worried the Vice-Chancellor who is now trying a ceasefire with the saffron brigade as well as Dr Nirmal Singh even as there is no positive signal from the other side.
