'Nationalist' BJP Minister refuses to help NIT students
Face Police beating again for raising pro-India slogans, tricolor
4/6/2016 12:30:29 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 5: At 6.30 pm on Tuesday when Jammu and Kashmir police started unprovoked lathicharge on students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar for raising Tringa and raising pro India slogans, some of the fear stricken students telephoned a senior BJP leader, who is minister in the coalition government, to save them from the wrath of police, but the self styled nationalist leader refused to provide them any help. Students virtually pleaded before the senior BJP minister to save them but the power hungry minister asked them not involve him in this controversy. The nationalist leader further suggested NIT students not to contact and face the situation themselves.
Credible sources said NIT students were hoping that nationalist BJP leaders would protect them from the wrath of local police but they were shocked after response of the BJP leaders including a senior minister. The so-called nationalist leaders of BJP are more concerned about power instead of protecting students who dared to raise national flag at NIT.
Discouraged by the cold response of BJP leaders including some ministers, the students approached Early Times for help. Students alleged that police started unprovoked lathicharge on them to settle scores with those students who raised pro- India slogans last week. They alleged that some faculty members are also threatening to fail those students who dared to hoist national flag in Kashmir and raised pro-India slogans.
