BGSBU organizes international conference

Rajouri, Apr 19: Sponsored by J&K Bank and Khyber Industries (Srinagar) and organised by School of Management Studies (SMS), BGSBU, a two days International Conference on 'Islamic Banking & Finance way forward for inclusive and sustainable development' was inaugurated today.
"The event was organised under the guidance and directions from Javed Mussarat, VC, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) & the objective was to acquient scholars from both academic & industry about the concept of Islamic Banking and various opportunities & challanges for its future growth" said the organisers.
The conference began with presentation of memento to key note speakers, Prof M.M.Majeed, Dean, IIBF, Hydrabad, Riaz Trumboo and Mufti Nazir Ahmed while more than 150 delegates from various parts of country taking part in the conference.
Prof Naseem Ahmed, Dean, SMS spoke on the theme of the conference while Prof M.M.Majeed highlighted the various global & local perspective of Islamic Banking and its introduction in J&K.
"Potential of Islamic Banking in J&K would be vibrant opportunity for the socio-economic growth and made it clear that it's not for a particular community but for the entire mankind to adopt and get benefited" said Riaz Trumboo.
Prof Javed Mussarat, VC, stressed upon the linkage between academia & industry for creation and dissemination of knowledge for the betterment of the society and also highlighted his vision for developing BGSBU as centre for academic research & excellence.
Dr Shariq Nissar, a leading scholar in the field , presented details regarding development of Islamic Finance in Indian context.
Prof V. Ahmed Ansari from AMU, Prof javed Ahmed , Director, Centre for West Asian Studies; & Dr Mohad Faisal also spoke on the topic.
