Youth his accomplices thrash brother for resisting molestation attempt
Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 5: Police on Sunday detained a youth after he and his two friends allegedly assaulted another youth and ‘attempted to molest’ his two sisters.
Sources said the incident happened at Bajalta-Surinsar road this evening when a local youth along with his two sisters was heading for his residence at Bajalta.
“They were intercepted and abused midway by three local youths, who parked their vehicle in front of their motorbike (victim’s two-wheeler) and thrashed the lone boy and his sisters,” sources added.
They said the situation took an ugly turn when allegedly drunken trio (one of them owner of a petrol pump) grabbed both girls on the isolated road (Bajalta-Surinsar). The lone youth accompanying his sisters resisted the move and entered into an altercation with the trio.
Sources said that some vehicles passed through the road which led to trio fleeing away from the spot. “Luckily, I got opportunity and made a phone call to my relatives in Bajalta and they informed Sidra police following which police rushed to the spot and one of the accused was nabbed while two of his accomplice escaped from the spot,” said the victim.
Sources further said that within no time family members and relatives of the nabbed youth reached the police post Sidra and tried to convince police to leave their son without being punished for the crime he allegedly committed.
“I am on way to police post. I am not in the police post at present. I don’t know about the incident,” was the reply of Incharge Police Post Sidra SI Tariq, when Early Times tried to get details.
Instead of taking side of victims, sources said, the victims were being pressurized to compromise with the accused even as a case under section 354 and 509 of RPC has been registered in this regard.
