'Scared' JU administration snubs Vigilance Awareness Week
Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 5: What else could be termed as embarrassment for the highest institute, which allegedly snubbed Vigilance Awareness Week, just only to accommodate its tainted hierarchy of officials.
According to sources, it appears very unfortunate that Jammu University administration could not had this much courage to organise function for Vigilance Awareness Week.
"Even when every small to big institution, especially educational institutions have observed this week, the Jammu University remained exception," said sources, adding that the major reason behind not holding any such programme is to shield its officers, who are facing vigilance probe.
Sources said that JU administration did not want to bring more embarrassment to the institution by organising any vigilance awareness week, as they knew that it will raise questions over many officials of the varsity, who themselves are facing charges of corruption and are presently undergoing probe.
"The university has no single officer, who can claim to be clean and honest. If they had observed vigilance awareness week, the students would have questioned their integrity of observing this day, when they are already undergoing probes," said sources, adding that therefore the JU administration found it feasible to give it a slip.
