Following protest, DC kishtwar orderd probe against Bank Manager

Jammu, Feb 13: The people of remote Marwah area of Kishtwar District today held a protest against the Manager of a leading bank for alleged sexual exploitation of local innocent girls.
They demanded registration of FIR against the said Bank employee for hurting the religious sentiments of the majority community by passing derogatory remarks.
Following the massive public outrage, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana along with senior police officers rushed to the spot in a private chopper as the area is presently under heavy snow cover and lacks road connectivity during winters.
DC Kishtwar after reaching out to the agitating people ordered immediate probe into the matter and attach the said Bank Manager with the cluster head at Kishtwar, however no FIR was registered against the accused till reports came in.
The DC on the spot issued instructions for the shifting of In charge Manager Sanjay Kumar and instructed him to report to his cluster office today itself. He ordered an enquiry into the allegations against him to be conducted by ACR Kishtwar, who shall submit his report within a week's time.
Beside ordering probe into the matter, DC Kishtwar also take stock of the problems of people in view the heavy snowfall in the area. The people present in hundreds at Nawapachi put forth a number of public grievances most of which were resolved on the spot.
The various speakers including Ghulam Hassan Khan, Zahoor Ahmed, Ghulam Rasool Bhat and others spoke on the occasion and demanded cancellation of the proposed Bursar Dam, un-interrupted supply of ration and other essentials, vaccination of the cattle, availability of the mobile phone connectivity and internet, functioning of CIC Marwah, enquiry of embezzlement of ration by the TSO and strictest action including registration of FIR against him, smooth and frequent operation of heli services and attendance of officers and officials in the offices. Besides, they requested that all those officials who obtained job from Marwah and later shifted along with post to Kishtwar or elsewhere for availing elevated life standard be posted back to Marwah.
DC Kishtwar gave a patient hearing to the public demands and took note of all their issues one by one. It was decided that a team of officers shall check all government offices from tomorrow and if anybody found absent from duty, shall face tough action. Regarding the availability of ration and its scale, DC gave e detailed briefing on it which the public appreciated. It was decided that the animal & Sheep Husbandry staff shall immediately move into the area and start the required vaccination of livestock. He also handed over relief materials for one Janna Begum, a widow wife of late Abdul Ghani Malik resident of village Changer whose house got collapsed during the current snowfall.
With regard to complaint related to arrest of SPO turn militants, the local shows great concern over hoodwinking of investigation by the police under political pressure as the said SPO who was arrested from the house of a ruling party leader was shown arrested from a forest area,the administration inform the people that police is very serious in the investigation of the case in which the deserting SPO of police station Marwah and his associates were arrested added that the investigation has been transferred to Dy. SP Operations Kishtwar and the police is progressing well in the case.
The people had allege that the arrested persons were planning to execute political target killings including that of former MoS sajjad Ahmed Kichloo and others on which the officials assured the people that no one will be spared.
"Whosoever is involved in this case shall face the law and none shall be spared at any cost" said the visiting officer added that police out of humanitarian feelings will re-construct the collapsed house of widow Janna Begum of Chanjjer, beside also order transfer of incumbent SHO Inspector Farooq Khateeb and posted Inspector Mohammad Bashir Kohli as SHO police station Marwah. Khateeb was directed to report to District Police Lines Kishtwar with immediate effect.
