National cadet corps unit organizes get-together

Jammu, Feb 13: The NCC unit of GGM Science College organized a get-together today, to showcase the achievements of the NCC cadets of the college for the year 2017-18.
Col. Shalinder Parihar, Director, NCC J&K Directorate was the chief guest on the occasion. On the arrival of Chief Guest, a guard of honour was presented by the NCC cadets of the College.
A colourful programme including a skit on Relevance of Education in Current Scenario was presented on the event. Bhangra, local folk dances and Patriotic Songs were part of items presented by the boy and girl cadets of the college.
While speaking on the occasion, Col. Shalinder Parihar, who himself is an alumni of this College, exhorted upon the students to feel the change NCC brings in them. He further said that the college has maintained the high standards in terms of NCC. He congratulated the cadets to be fortunate enough to be a part of the NCC unit of GGM Science College, Jammu.
He also emphasized the cadets to inculcate the attitude of discipline, selfless service and love for the uniform and be a part of the army, the proud of nation.
The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest by lightening of the lamp and Ganesh Vandana by the cadets. The welcome address was presented by Dr. Jagjeet Singh, ANO 2 J&K Boys Battalion (NCC).
A power point presentation was given by cadet Mukal Manhas to highlight the achievements of the NCC units of the college at various levels of State and National in the year 2017-18. The Chief Guest distributed prizes among the cadets who excelled at various levels during the year. S.U.O Vishal Choudhary was selected as Best Cadet among boys for his academic and NCC excellence. The Chief Guest accompanied by Principal, Dr. Satinder Singh and other dignitaries also performed the piping in ceremony for the cadets now going in their 3rd Year.
