One bullet one target' helps BSF snipers to take down terrorists at Indo-Pak border

Agencies

New Delhi, June 18: With the Amarnath Yatra to commence on June 28, the Border Security Force (BSF) has increased its security cover to avert any kind of toward situation. As per intelligence inputs, several terrorists are camping near the Line of Control (LoC) so that they can infiltrate and target the pilgrims. To counter these terrorists, BSF has a team of deadly snipers who are specifically trained to take on these insurgents.
They are not ordinary soldiers as just one out 100 trainees are selected and thereby trained as a sniper. BSF's snipers are trained at Central School of Weapon and Tactics in Indore in Madhya Pradesh where they undergo a rigorous training for over two months. The snipers have their own working mechanism. Firstly, they would go for a reccee of the exact spot which is being used by the terrorists for camping and to infiltrate into the Indian side. It is during this reccee that they identify the spots from which they could attack the enemy and even stay hidden.
The snipers are trained so well that many a times they enter the enemy's location and stay hidden at places that go undetected from both the Pakistani troops as well as terrorists. Snipers follow the 'one bullet one target' plan and stick to the same which if otherwise deviated may bear deadly consequences. BSF snipers have a tough life as they have to brave every odd circumstances to identify spots where they may hide themselves as well as their weapons. For the unversed, Pakistani Army snipers killed BSF sub-inspector SN Yadav and BSF constable V Pandey.
