Rajnath Singh's direction to Indian troops not to first fire against Pak force
10/18/2018 10:28:41 PM
The Union Home Minister,
Rajnath Singh has directed Indian troops not to open fire against Pakistani troops but if Pakistani troops violated ceasefire and target Indian forward posts and bunkers then the Indian troops are required to reply with heavy retaliation. No fire first from the Indian side is the latest instructions to the Indian forces. Accusing Pakistan of trying to destablise India by sending militants across the border, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said forces in Jammu and Kashmir have been asked not to fire first, but to retaliate without counting the bullets, if provoked."It (Pakistan) is our neighbour, so don't fire first. But if even one bullet comes from that side, then don't take count of the bullets (fired in retaliation)," he said in his directive to the Armed forces. Addressing a public meeting at Guntur, Singh said Pakistan has not been desisting from sending terrorists into the country but India was taking 'swift action' against terrorism."Pakistan is trying to destabilise us by sending militants. But I would like to compliment our Army men, forces and Jammu and Kashmir police. All three are acting in mutual coordination and are engaged in wiping out militants daily and are succeeding," he said. Rajnath Singh has specifically told Indian troops not to first fire and instead of it retaliate with force and fury. Retaliation is needed because the Indian troops have to foil ingress bids. Already over 300 militants have been brought on the launch pads across the LoC and across the IB and the basic purpose of the Pak troops was to resort to ceasefire violations to push groups of militants into Jammu and Kashmir. India does not want to spoil freakish relations with Pakistan and that is the reason for the Union Home Minister to Indian troops to desist from first fire on the Pak bunkers and forward posts. New Delhi knows it well that if India has won over the Chinese why cannot it mend its fences with Pakistan when the language and culture seem to be somewhat similar to the vast difference between the Chinese language and culture. Export of terrorists has been the main ire for India which has not so far opened the doors of dialogue. Already Pakistan has sought bilateral talks and India wants to end export of terror and series of attempts at pushing groups of militants into Jammu and Kashmir. Yes, Kashmir issue has been the main irritant between New Delhi and Islamabad but this issue could be debated and discussed in the bilateral talks and let Pakistan fulfill preconditions laid down by India for resumption of the talks.
