| YHAI team attends national level meeting | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 12: A team comprising of Padamshri Dr. S.P. Varma Chairman Youth Hostels Association of India J&K State Branch , Dr. Taran Singh Honorary state Secretary, AM Bichoo State Treasurer, GD Shahmir, Mehjbin Bhat attended national level meeting at International Youth Hostel Chankya Puri New Delhi. In this meeting 190 elected members from all state branches of India attended the meeting. Detailed deliberation took place in this meeting in which members/ representatives of all state branches took part and gave detailed report about their activities being carried on in their respective states.
It is pertinent to mention here that YHAI is a 70 years old organisation associated with 109 years old international organization Hostelling International with its head office in Great Britain. It has 4500 youth hostels worldwide and national branches in 92 countries including whole Europe, USA, Canada, Russia and China. The aim of the organization is to provide budget and clean accommodation to the wandering youth worldwide.
MS Pandit who happens to be the President of YHAI J&K State Branch as well as National President of YHAI stressed upon the members to work for upholding the national integration and protection of environment. He asked for the more active involvement of female members in the organisation. J&K is the best international destination for adventure tourism, he said. |
