PDP becomes a two way street!
Amid Bukhari-PDP tussle, former rebel planning Ghar Wapsi
1/21/2019 10:54:59 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 21: A former PDP leader who was among the founders of the party in 1999 and is presently in Congress is making hectic efforts to re-enter into the house that he abandoned due to differences with Altaf Bukhari and Haseeb Drabu.
Now when both the leaders are out of the party, this one time PDP veteran is confabulating the ways and means to join once again. As per the reports, this former PDP leader isn't comfy in the Congress and often complaints that his stature is being undermined by the party leaders.
The basic reason, the leader in question gave for bidding adieu to the PDP earlier was that the party joining hands with the BJP and elevation of two PDP leaders in the PDP led government in the state. As the BJP last year in June pulled the rug under from feet of PDP and toppled the government, the PDP upped ante against the BJP and all its policies while terming the decision to join hands with it a mistake.
Also, after the demise of Mufti Sayeed, the leader in question termed Altaf Bukhari and Haseeb Drabu as paratroopers and political toddlers in the PDP and demanded that they both should not be accorded any important post.
At that time, Bukhari retorted back and termed the leader a chameleon . "He has been changing stand like a chameleon. He is a chameleon. He has been changing colours since the day BJP-PDP coalition was formed last year in the state. I have nothing personal against him. I respect him as a senior but the way he has been changing colours is utterly disgraceful," Bukhari said in a statement issued in April 2016.
At present, when the PDP is at the logger heads with Bukhari, Drabu and BJP, chances are high that the leader may consider his Ghar Wapsi. "There are chances that he may join us as the reason he left are no longer existent. Also, PDP is like his home, he founded it along with the party founder. He knows the party and party knows him," says a PDP functionary.
Pertinently, what were termed as crucial elections in Srinagar, this PDP rebel and Congress leader failed to make an impact as the PDP, whom he had divorced, secured lead in his home turf in parliament polls on 2017. Farooq Abdullah with his support secured 2119 votes from Batmaloo while as on the other hand PDP got 2362 votes, securing a lead of 243 votes. Both Congress, which the leader joined in 2017, and National Conference who fought the Srinagar parliamentary by polls jointly had expected him to garner support for Abdullah.
As top Congress leadership had felt betrayed over his dismal performance at his own hometown and were tight lipped over such a pathetic performance by the one who used to claim wider support in Srinagar, the stature of the PDP rebel in Congress at that time began to witness a downfall.
