BARAMULLA, June 4: Sixty three fresh positive cases were reported today in all the three districts of north Kashmir, while 464 are active positive cases as on date. However a medical officer has been suspended for his alleged negligence.
According to details available, Twenty nine fresh positive cases were reported in Baramulla 301 are cumulative, 190 are active positive, and 07 deaths have occurred so far in this district.
In Kupwara, 19 fresh positive cases were reported, 318 are cumulative, 235 are active positive cases, and one death has also occurred here in this district.
In Bandipora, 15 fresh positive cases have been reported today, 176 are cumulative, 39 are active positive, and one death has occurred so far in this district.
Authorities on Thursday suspended a medical officer for alleged negligence in handling novel Coronavirus situation in north-Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara ordered suspension of the Medical Officer Dr Irfan in-charge of RRT Handwara who has been accused of creating problems for the administration, order copy is in possession of Early Times.
However sources said that the medical officer has been directed to explain his position as why he was frequently creating problems for the administration.
The officer had been accused of releasing several inmates without seeing their daily test reports, and the move has been understood as the gross violation, this behavior has put the whole administration on the back foot as the hard earned efforts have been badly affected by his actions.
Meanwhile, the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today, convened a meeting of the officers to review power and water supply facilities at Sub District Hospital Kralpora, presently, designated as Quarantine Facility Centre in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
On the occasion, the DDC directed the concerned Executive Engineer to install a transformer at the site so that uninterrupted power supply is provided to the facility centre. He asked the engineers of PHE division to ensure that adequate drinking water supply is made available in the centre early. |
