Koushal Jammu, Mar 20: Falling short of collecting revenue targets, efforts by Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) go in vain as it fails to streamline the revenue generation due to delayed tactics by some government departments including autonomous bodies that seems to be reluctant to clear their outstanding in Jammu province. In the table of outstanding prepared by the department while collecting the data of last few years, Estates Department owes around Rs 8 crore while government hospitals in City Division 1 have around Rs 5 crores pending of PHE Department and in the table Managing Director J&K Tourism Department Corporation (JKTDC) is at serial No 3 in the table with an outstanding of Rs 3 crores. With accumulated outstanding of about 1 crore rupees with Registrar, Jammu University is next in the table of defaulters followed by Managing Director Hotels, Hari Niwas Palace with amassed pending of about 94 lakhs. Similarly Higher Education Department, Jammu and Kashmir Milk Producers Cooperative Limited, Director Potatoes Development Officer, Superintendent District Jail, Director Education, Divisional Engineer Forest West Division Janipur, Delhi Public School, Executive Engineer (Xen) Grid Construction Narwal, Government MAM College, Deputy Director for PSP Fruit Mandi Narwal, Government Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Deputy Commissioner of Stamps State office Sale Tax, Fire Station Gangyal are next in the list of departments with pending of about 53 lakhs, 30 lakh, 27 lakh, 25 lakh, 24 lakh, 24 lakh, 23 lakh, 22 lakh , 18 lakh, 9 lakh, 7 lakh, 5 lakh and 5 lakh respectively. In addition to these departments, there are several other departments in the list owing thousand of rupees to PHE department. |
